Amory – Brenda Cowley Mann, 68, died on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on February 14, 1944, in Amory, she was a daughter of Walta Mae Smith Wallace and the late Victor Brook Cowley, Sr.
Brenda attended Smithville High School. On November 24, 1983, she married Michael Mann. A former beauty salon owner, Brenda retired from True Temper Sports. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Her life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, and pets. A wonderful and caring lady, Brenda was a strong yet tenderhearted person. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, interior decorating, fishing, and listening to Elvis Presley.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Musgrove officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Mathis, Jack Horne, Tommy Mann, Bill Leech, C. D. Leech, and Billy Holly. Honorary pallbearers will be Gunar Clark, Bill King, and Ronnie Turner.Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.She is survived by her husband and best friend of 28 years, Michael Mann, Amory; mother, Walta Mae Wallace, Amory; daughters, Cindy Leech-Black (Scott), Houston, TX, and Suzette Taylor (Tim), Nettleton; sons, Tim Leech (Carol), Smithville and Stan Mann, Nettleton; grandchildren, Tyler and Lindsey Leech, Smithville; Claudia, Jackson, and Josh Taylor, Nettleton; John, Chelsea, and Kayla Black, Houston, TX; Mercedes Norman, Corinth; and Chelsi Stevens, Smithville; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Ava Black, Houston, TX, and Everett Norman, Corinth; and niece, Vicky Cowley Reeder, Fulton.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Brook Cowley, Jr., and a grandson, John Douglas Stevens.
