Amory-Brenda Joyce Jenkins Hamilton, 75, died on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on October 6, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Eloyce Joe Jenkins and Dessie Marie Peek Jenkins.
She attended Amory High School. Brenda attended the Methodist church however; she was baptized by the Baptist church. She was very faithful in her faith. Her favorite saying was, “It’s in God’s Hands" and "Whatever He Thinks Is Best”. She prided on the fact that she was a cousin of Conway Twitty.
Brenda chose the hotel business in Atlanta, Georgia, as her occupation. She was a desk clerk and later became a night manager. In her spare time, she loved to do crossword puzzles, word search puzzles, and crochet. Her sister, Carolyn Shook, was her closest friend. They shopped together and spent quality time together. They shared everyday with each other. Her neighbors and her family were most important to her. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Tillman (Larry), Powder Springs, GA; Lori Ann Countryman (Ricky), Douglasville, GA; a son, Michael Hamilton (Regina), Laurel, MS; one sister: Sue Morrand, Durham, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Hamilton; and a sister, Carolyn Shook.
Her Funeral Service will be 11AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Bro. Sammy Washburn will be officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Amory. Pallbearers will be Patrick Shook, Larry Tillman, III, Phillip Countryman; Cain Hamilton; Larry Tillman, II, and Cory Hursh.
Visitation for Mrs. Hamilton will be from 5-8 PM, Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
