Amory – Brad Comer, 41, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2011, while working in Taji, Iraq. Born on June 17, 1969, in Tupelo, he was a son of Jody Dewayne Comer, Sr., and the late Mary Joyce Golden Comer.
Brad was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1988, and attended ICC. In August 1991, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for ten years and was honorably discharged as a Senior Airman in October 2000. Following his discharge, Brad Joined the Army National Guard and was based in Tupelo and Jackson. In 2003, he became a professional contractor working overseas and was known for being a great boss. A Christian who was strong in his faith, Brad was a Methodist. Never meeting a stranger, Brad was a people person who impacted many lives. A wonderful husband, father, and friend, Brad’s family and his Country were most important to him. The life of the party, Brad’s passion was cooking. He loved music of all types, loved cars, especially Camaros, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, was a great storyteller, and enjoyed going on cruises, especially Disney cruises.
He is survived by his wife, soul mate and best friend, Pamela P. Comer and sons, Alexander Lance Comer and Nicholas Dewitt Comer, all of Amory; father, Joe (Ann) Comer, Sulligent, AL; grandmother, Sue Comer, Smithville; brother, Jody Dewayne “Dee” Comer, Jr., and his fiancée, Tiffany Fooshee; and nieces and nephews, Jody and Josh Comer, Skye Gilmer, April and Courtney Fooshee, Wynter Brook Powell, Ashleigh Jordan Mutters, and Brody James.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 28 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Nelson Johnson and Bro. Dempsey Roland officiating. A Gathering and reception will follow at the home of James Powell, 50451 S. Harmony Rd., Amory, MS 38821.
Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
