Bobby Wilemon, 84, died on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born April 25, 1929 in Itawamba County, he was a son of David Edward and Vada Shields Wilemon. A graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School, he married Ouida Pierce. A man of faith, he was a member of the Faith Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. Before his retirement, he was a truck driver for Webb Trucking in Dorsey. He also worked for Holsom Bread; operated his own car clean-up business, Auto Magic; and worked in the HVAC business. His hobbies included fishing, playing cards, and his dog, Man.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Wade Cook and Bro. Tracy West officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Barbara Curry (Mike) of Pensacola, Fla., Lynn Burt (Ricky Lee) of Amory, Teresa Vandiver of Amory, and Tanya Hipps (Bobby) of Nettleton; one son, Eddie Wilemon (Dian) of Amory; one sister, Yvone Hayes (Billy) of Pensacola, Fla.; and one brother, James Wilemon (Nell) of Tupelo; 16 grandchildren, Terry Whitlock, Dawn Grace, Jody Wilemon, Ashley Cohn, Pee Wee Burt, Nicky Burt, Jesse Lindsey, Brandy Lindsey, Brandy Harrison, Dena West, Chad Hipps, Shay Faye, Josh Hipps, Sherry Curry, Michelle Curry, and Gayle Curry; 22 great grandchildren; and 5 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one granddaughter, Kandi Wilemon.
Pallbearers will be James Blaylock, Chip Brown, Roger Dean, Jason Grace, Rob Harrison, and Steve Keeton. Honorary pallbearer will be Dud Weaver.
Visitation will continue until service time on Thursday.
