Amory – Bobby Wayne “B. W.” Plaxico, II, 34, died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on October 18, 1978, in Amory, he was a son of Glenda Carolyn Mathis Plaxico and Bobby Wayne Plaxico.
B. W. went to school at Amory, Hatley, ICC, and MSU. He was a former assistant manager with Pizza Hut and was a chef-in-training at Cracker Barrel. B. W. was of the Baptist faith. Teaching himself to play guitar, he enjoyed recording music, writing songs, and played in the bands Addiction Device, Kill J, and Applestein. A fun-loving, kind-hearted, and a big bundle of joy, B. W. was passionate about children’s hospitals and his music. He enjoyed cooking, especially grilling steaks, and Rock, Indie, and Country music.
He is survived by his mother, Glenda Plaxico, Amory; father, Bobby Wayne, Plaxico (Kathy), Aberdeen; brother, James Benjamin “Benji” Powell (Becky), Aberdeen; niece and nephews, Rebecca Shae Davis, Boyce Brandon Lee Neal and James Matthew Powell; special friends, Tom Evans and Richard “Bruh” Stockton, as well as many other friends; and an aunt, Wanda Plaxico; uncle, Jimmy Plaxico; and cousins, Richard Walters, Debbie Walters-Thompson, and Poncho Plaxico.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Neal; grandmothers, Mary Mathis Plaxico and Verde Plaxico; and grandfathers, Leslie Mathis and Henry Plaxico.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, December 1at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Mr. Marshall Eubanks, Jr., and Bro. Robert E. Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robie Poole, Tom Evans, Clayton Davis, Richard Stockton, Steve Burks, Jimmy Meal, and Ricky Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Benji Powell, Brandon Neal, and Matthew Powell.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
