Amory — Bobbie Wilkinson, 87, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Oak tree Manor Nursing Center, Amory, MS. She was born in Aberdeen, MS on December 21, 1931, to the late Frank Logan Ballard and Annie Ellen Cleveland Ballard.

Bobbie graduated from Aberdeen High School with the Class of 1949. On March 3, 1951, she married James Earl Wilkinson and they were blessed with six children. She was a wonderful Christian woman who had a sweet spirit and would always be found helping others. Besides her full-time job as a homemaker, she also worked for several years at Southside Baptist Church as cook for the daycare children. Bobbie believed in treating others the way she wanted to be treated. She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Aberdeen where she taught the “King’s Daughters” Sunday School Class for 20 years.

She loved the Lord and was thankful for her family. Bobbie’s children and grandchildren gave her the most joy in this life and she cherished the time she spent with her three sisters. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to Old Southern Gospel and church music. She was an avid book reader and really enjoyed religious books. She was talented in quilting and she enjoyed working in her flower beds.

She was a kind, sweet spirited Christian mother and grandmother and she will be missed dearly. Her family has peace knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind sweet memories for them to cherish always.

Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Wendy Wilkinson Warren (Ricky), Vicksburg, Wanda Wilkinson Thompson, Aberdeen, Bonnie Wilkinson Sapp (Bobby), Saltillo; sons, William Len Wilkinson (Vicki), Canyon Country, California, Harold J. Wilkinson, Aberdeen, Tommy R. Wilkinson (Deborah), Aberdeen; sisters, Edna Peterson, Aberdeen, Louise Clark, Byhalia; brother, Jesse Ballard, Sr., Aberdeen; grandchildren, Joshua Wilkinson, Candice Wilkinson, Ann Mullins, David Warren, Jason Thompson, James Thompson, Tom Wilkinson, Michael Wilkinson, Angel Martin, Jeremy Sapp, Justin Sapp, Tracy Hurst, and Kim Hurst; 34 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Wilkinson; son-in-law, Jimmy H. Thompson; siblings, Alvin Ballard, Leo Ballard, and Dorothy Tucker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 21, 2019, at Friendship Baptist Church, Aberdeen, with Bro Rick Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Aberdeen. Pallbearers will include Jeremy Sapp, Tom Wilkinson, Jason Thompson, Michael Wilkinson, James Thompson, and Justin Sapp. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Wilkinson and David Warren.

Visitation will be Monday, from 12:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Friendship Baptist Church.
