Billy Jones
Amory, Miss.—Billy Dwayne Jones, 63, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. Born November 21, 1950 in McAllister, OK, he was a son of Rubel and Maxine Guyton Jones. He married Sherry Randolph. A graduate of Hatley High School, he also graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Training Academy in Pearl and was a policeman for the City of Amory for 25 years before his retirement. He was a member of the New Vision Worship Center in Nettleton and he enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, gardening, riding his bike, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the New Vision Worship Center in Nettleton with Jesse Strider, Bro. Mac Phillips, and Steve Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Jones of Amory; one daughter, Savannah Jones Perkins (John Michael) of Amory; one sister, Wanda Allen (Marlin) of Amory; one brother, Donald Gibbs (Gretta) of Salina, KS; two grandchildren, Brantley Gage Perkins and Grayson Michael Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and by one brother, Ronald Gibbs.
Pallbearers will be Mark Allen, Shane Minich, Cayse Minich, Wade Randolph, Richard Randolph, Greg Randolph, Brad Minich, and Sam Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be current and retired employees of the Amory Police Department.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday the church and will continue until service time on Wednesday.
