Nettleton – Billy Gene Gray, 62, died on Friday, December 19, 2014, at his residence. Born on February 10, 1952, in Lee County, MS, he was the son of Herman Bill and Willa Jean Brookman Gray.

Gray graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School. He retired from working as a truck driver in the transportation business, being a plumber and a welder. He lived every day to the best, was caring and shared his love with others. He believed that the most important thing in life was to be happy and enjoy life by being with the ones he loved. He was active, drove a tractor, fished and traveled to places like the mountains and the beach to see lighthouses. He liked to take care of his loved ones and working on his tractor. The people closest to him are Barbara, Jean, his mother, and Debbie, his sister.

In addition to his mother, Willa Jean Gray, he is survived by his best friend and caregiver, Barbara Mayhall; daughter, Janice Neal (Johnny) Becker; sons, James Gray and David Gray; sisters, Debra Martin, of Nettleton, Peggie Norris, of Nettleton; grandchildren, Joseph, Kenneth, Nick, and Jonathan Neal; a host of nieces and nephews.

Gray was preceded in death by his father, Herman Bill Gray.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2014, at Wiygul Cemetery, Itawamba County, with Chaplain Mark Thornton officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM.
