Carolina Community – Billy "Bill" Joe Reeves, 79, passed away on October 16, 2016 at his residence. Born on December 27, 1936, he was the son of Thomas and Lester Mae Garrett Reeves.
Bill attended Hattiesburg High School in 1954. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He proudly served our country by joining the Navy in 1954. He was a naval air technician during his military career. During Bill’s service in the Navy, while stationed in the Philippines, Subic Bay was commissioned. Bill was a proud plankowner in Subic Bay. Following active duty, he was active in the reserves for 6 years. He was a perfectionist when he cooked and would shop in various grocery stores. He loved SEC football especially Ole Miss Football. Bill loved the outdoors. He loved to garden and to fish for catfish. He was passionate about his dog Patches. He retired from ITT where he was a plant superintendent. Bill was a very loving man who loved his family very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ray Reeves.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Reeves whom he married on July 1, 2005; his daughters Donna Harlow (John), Amory, Brooke Reeves, Oxford; a son, Curt Reeves (Pam), Fulton; brother, Jerry T. Reeves (Melinda), Sulligent, Alabama; grandchildren, Chris Harlow, Brian Robinson, Kipp Reeves; Great grandchildren, Abbey and Molly Harlow, Arleigh Wood, Bennett Reeves, and JadeAnna Reeves; special friend, Johnny Brown, Nettleton.
A celebration of life service will 11 AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Mike Yielding and Bro. Mike Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the New Chapel cemetery in Nettleton, MS. Pallbearers will be: Chris Harlow, Brian Robinson, Kipp Reeves, Johnny Brown, Tim Mills and Robert Brown.
Visitation for Bill Reeves will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
