Fulton - Billy Charles Archie, 66, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born October 27, 1945, he was a son of Mary Frances Gray Archie and the late C.D. Archie. He married Mary Nell Reich in 1966 and was a member of the Bigbee Baptist Church. He established and worked at Archie’s Truck Body Works until his illness in 1997. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, riding his horse and buggy, spending time with this family and friends, going to church, and going to the mountains with the Senior Adults of Bigbee Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Bigbee Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Nell Archie of Fulton; mother, Mary Frances Gray Archie; 2 daughters, Pam Archie and Christy Kirby (Mark); 2 sons, David Archie (Tonya) and B.J. Archie (Anna) all of Fulton; 11 grandchildren, Hope, Jonathan, Candace, Tyler, Kristin, Justin, Jordon, Dustin, Blake, Samantha, and Savannah; one great grandchild, Payden; his mother, Mary Frances Archie; two brothers, Earl and Timmy; 5 sisters, Erma, Floria, Charlotte, Joyce, and Brenda; and special friends, Clyde and Louise Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.D. Archie; and by one grandson, Bradley Joe Archie.
Pallbearers will be Boyd Duncan, Charles Watson, Wayne Thorn, Rob Sargent, Butch Johnson, and Barry Green. Clyde Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday June 13 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday.
