Beverly Morris Vance
Dallas, TX/ Amory, MS – Beverly Morris Vance, 88, passed away on April 13, 2023, at her residence in Dallas, Texas. She was born on November, 30, 1934 in Amory, Mississippi to the late C. H. “Bill” Morris and Dorthea Thomas Morris.
Beverly grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Amory High School where she was a member of the marching band and the Glee Club. She furthered her education at her favorite college, the University of Mississippi and she made many great friends while there. She married the love of her life, John Calder Vance on November 27, 1953 and together they were blessed with two children. They did everything together and were each other’s best friends. Through the years as her family grew, she always put them as her first priority, always encouraging and loving them dearly. Beverly never met a stranger and was happy all the time.
In addition to being a great wife and mom, Beverly worked for State Farm Insurance and the Campbell Soup Company. She was passionate about her community and a caring and generous woman. While living in Texas, she helped organize and create the Can Do Playroom for Dallas County DA’s Office. This project enabled the child victims and witnesses a place of respite during difficult and stressful times. Beverly always made a point to help children in need around her and she often times would sing one of her favorite tunes, Jesus Loves the Little Children. She believed in Jesus Christ and that he died on the cross for everyone’s sins.
In her free time, in addition to spending time with family, Beverly loved to listen to upbeat music. She especially liked any kind of music which would make you feel like rolling the carpet back and dancing. Beverly liked to needlepoint, do crossword puzzles, and word search puzzles.
All the great memories made with her will be cherished for years to come. Her family is at peace, knowing that she is home, reunited with her husband and in the presence of The Lord.
She is survived by her daughter, Val Vance, Dallas, TX; son, Robb Vance (Jerrie), Athens, AL; grandchildren, Jacob Robb Vance, Christian Lee Bowden, Maddox, Millie and Monroe; great-grandchildren, Rylan Vance, Kyson Vance; brother, William Thomas Morris (Emily), Madison, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
