Beverley “Meana” Miller Outlaw

Amory – Beverley Miller Outlaw, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Oak Tree Manor. Born on February 21, 1940, in Columbus, MS, she was a daughter of the late George Dick and Margarete Jeanette Reeves Miller.

Beverley graduated from Amory High School with the Class of 1958. During her career, she worked at Pullman Couch and Wright’s Jewelry. She was a manager of True Temper Federal Credit Union from 1988 to 2004 before she retired. Beverley was a very active member at St. Andrew’s where she attended ladies’ weekly Bible Study. She enjoyed church choir, Sunday school lessons, and fellowship at Wednesday night suppers.

Beverley cherished the time she spent with her family, especially Sunday afternoon dinners and family gatherings. She always loved taking care of everyone, especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge. She was fond of Country music, Kenny Rogers, and Methodist hymns. Beverley was also passionate about the Pilot Club and the Fidelia Club.

Beverley was “Mother Theresa” to everyone. She was a wonderful mother and full of love. She was opinionated, often times described as “spit-fire,” and others would say that you always “knew where you stood with her.” She was also very devoted to her loved ones. Beverley leaves behind many memories to be cherished, and she is now making her heavenly home. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Beverley is singing praise now.

She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Hester and Mike, Nettleton; Allison Black and Jim, Saltillo; son, Joel Outlaw and Chastity, Amory; 8 grandchildren, Libby Grier and Matt, Tupelo; Pamela Hester and Aaron, Nettleton; Kayla Hester-Marcy and Simon, Starkville; Jonathan Hester and Blaire, Amory; Jimmy Black and Helen, Montclair, NJ; Ryan Black and Mary Ward of Oxford; Jordan and Brody Outlaw, Amory; 3 great-grandchildren, Izabelle Grier, Henry Marcy, and Xavier Black; 3 sisters, Reveland Wheat, Brandon; Bobbye Miller, Amory; Sarah Richardson and Bobby, Amory; 3 brothers, Dickie Miller and Gail, Amory; Bo Miller, Amory; David Miller, Amory; special friend and personal caretaker, Ms. Mary McDonald. Beverley was “Meana” to a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly and her Outlaw family that loved her unconditionally.

In addition with her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband of 52 years, Larry Wayne Outlaw, Sr., and her oldest son, Larry Wayne Outlaw, Jr.
