Amory – Beulah Gray Noe Neal, 83, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her residence. Born on November 22, 1928, in Detroit, AL, she was a daughter of the late John and Johnnie Young Noe.
Attending school at Smithville and Hatley, she played basketball and graduated from Hatley High School. Mrs. Neal was a seamstress at Amory Garment and Blue Bell until opening and operating The Drapery Shop with her mother-in-law. Always seeing the best in others, she was a member of Hatley Primitive Baptist Church. A lady with a big heart who was very genuine and sincere, her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Neal enjoyed word search puzzles, cross-stitching, gardening, and Gospel music.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 PM, Friday, March 23 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Elder Tim Cunningham and Bro. Danny Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chad Houston, Chad Bishop, Louis Hathcote, Todd McCollum, Dwight Vaughn, Steve Sullivan, and Scott Noe.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Poore Tubb, Amory; sisters, Estelle Vaughn and Inez Sullivan of Amory; brother, Jack Noe (Louise), Starkville; grandchildren, John Hathcote (Heather), Smithville, Jamie Houston (Chad), and Mary Bishop (Chad) of Amory; great-grandchildren, Eli, Will, and Lillie Hathcote; Andrew and Brady Houston; and Jolie and Graham Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Neal; sisters, Bernice Bryan, Clorine Phillips, Laverne Noe, Eunice Chism, and Vertie Plaxico; and brothers, Buck, Hurston, and Eston Noe.
