Born in Attala County, MS, on September 19, 1916, she was a daughter of the late James Wesley and Aura Wade Ousley Allen.A loving and caring person, she married Charles Madison Flowers on July 11, 1936. Mrs. Flowers lived in Pickens County, AL from 1942 until moving to Amory in 1954. She had been living with her daughter in Byram since 2007. Mrs. Flowers was an active member of First Baptist Church, Amory and the Triple L. A homemaker, she enjoyed being with family, friends and around people. She was a life-member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served over 50 years in Gordo, AL, and in the Amory OES Chapter 41. Mrs. Flowers was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and Flowers Lovers Garden Club as well as volunteering for several other organizations. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music, especially the Gaithers, and playing dominoes.She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Ann Flowers, Byram and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Madison Flowers; sisters, Bessie Hines and an infant sister; and brothers, J. B., Willie B. and Robert Peepsie Allen.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Webb, Paul “Smitty” Smith, Steve Burgess, Johnny Allen, Jack Flowers, Jr. and Ben Bennett.Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Washington, DC 20090-6011, American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy., Marietta, GA 30067, American Cancer Society, c/o Beth May, P.
