Smithville—Bettie Sue Wallis Hollis, 68, died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at her home. Born August 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Ernie Ruby Green Wallis and married Charles D. Hollis.
A woman of faith, she was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Nettleton. Enjoying her daily bible reading, she also enjoyed playing piano, singing at her church, and listening to gospel music. Loving children, she babysat in her home for many years. Her hobbies included attending auctions, playing bingo, and visiting with her friends. She loved her little dog Tippy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Thomas Neal and Bro. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Sherman.
Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Hollis of Smithville; two daughters, Melissa Tutor (Tim) of Shannon and Julie Bray (Matt) of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Tabitha Baker (Lee) of Booneville; one son, Chris Loden of Mantachie; one brother, Howard L. Wallis of Tupelo; 8 grandchildren, Dustin Tutor, Andrew and Belle Bray, Will and Jesse Loden, Casey Baker, Catherine Baker, and Keegan Baker; and one great grandchild, Carley Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Ben Rollins, James Sullivan, Eddie Leach, and Ricky Moffett.
Visitation will continue until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
