Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Hathcock, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the NMMC Hospice. Born on November 29, 1948 in Amory, MS, she was a daughter of the late Largus and Ruth Sanderson. Betty married the love of her life, Dwayne Hathcock on December 23, 1981. She attended Hatley Schools and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. . She attended the Nettleton Independent Methodist church. Betty worked for Arvins in the 1980’s in assembly production.
Betty loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed to fish and camp and also loved to shop. When listening to music, songs sung by Elvis Presley were her favorite. Betty will always be remembered for her loving smile and the love she had for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne, a son, Jason L. Thompson, 2 brothers: James (Tractor) Sanderson and Bobby Sanderson.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Darlene Goodin (Jeremy), Amory; a son, Danny Thompson (Meagan), Smithville; sister, Faye Anderson (Benny), Woodland, MS; sister-in-law, Barbara Sanderson, Smithville; Grandchildren: Ashley Rhynes (Cory), Nettleton, Vanessa Strode (Rico), Fulton and Matthew Thompson, Fulton; Great-Grandchildren: Noah Lawson, BayLeigh and Sadie Gist; a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Wanda Grubbs, D.C. Rhynes, Alison Robertson and Lillian Parham.
A celebration of life service for Betty Hathcock will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory. Bro Bubba Kennedy will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Goodin, Cory Gist, Daniel Holley, D.C. Rhynes, Donald Thompson, Jonathan Goodin, and Noah Lawson.
Visitation for Mrs. Hathcock will be on Friday evening, November 3, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
