Cason - Betty Booth Dillard, 84, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her residence. Born on March 5, 1928, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late John Wilkes and Myrtle Riley Booth. She was married to the late Claude Dean Dillard.
Living most of her life in the Cason Community, Mrs. Dillard owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Shop for over 45 years. She attended various churches in her community and was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed visiting with her friends at the beauty shop, working in her flower gardens, watching Wheel of Fortune on T.V.and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sons, James West (Kathy House), Cason, Randle West, Saltillo, Curtis D.West (Tamsie), New Albany and Mike West (Beth), Cason; sisters, Dorothy Bare, Lansing, MI, Lizzie Gandy, Pontiac, MI; brother, Harold Riley, Wren; grandchildren, Jason N. West, New Albany, Gary West (Dawn), Cason, Justin West (Brandy), Mantachie, Daniel West (Brittany), Oxford, Braxton and Lila Grace Welch of Tupelo; great granddaughter, Lilly West, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Lorene Tucker, Francis Booth, and Winnie Birmingham.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, August 30 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Plantersville. Pallbearers will be Bobby Sprayberry, Bobby Tucker, Justin Hendrix, Tim Tackett, Danny Hester, and David Dykes.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
