Betty Cornet

Aberdeen – Betty Odom Cornet, 67, of Aberdeen passed away at Diversicare Nursing Center in Amory, MS on April 4, 2023. She was born on October 28, 1955 in Amory, MS to the late Curtis Leroy Odom and Mary Dale Odom.

Betty grew up in Monroe County. She married Prentiss Cornet and they were blessed with a son, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. Betty had the most important job around, she was a homemaker.

Betty was very caring and compassionate person who loved spending time with her granddaughter Rosemary. She loved the Lord and attending church as well as listening to Southern Gospel Music. In her free time, she liked to read the newspaper and to work crossword puzzles. In addition to her family, she enjoyed spending time with and talking to her close friend, Angela Mitchell.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Left behind to treasure her memories are her son, Roger Cornet (Michelle), Aberdeen; grandchild, Rosemary Cornet, Aberdeen; sisters, Hazel Ford (Larry, AL, and Barbara Jones, of Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Timothy Ross; Ethan, Barbara, Della, and Dean Ghoston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Prentiss Cornet.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the Verona Pentecostal Church in Verona with Bro. John Mc Callister officiating.
