Betty Cantrell
Smithville, Miss.—Betty McFarling Cantrell, 76, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Born June 15, 1936 in Shannon, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ruby Cox McFarling. She married William “Dube” Cantrell on November 23, 1963. Before her retirement, she worked in the garment plants in Smithville and Amory. She was a member of the Smithville Free Will Baptist Church and she enjoyed listening to gospel and country music. She enjoyed cross stitching, word puzzle books, eating at Cracker Barrel, and spending time with family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Turon Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Lucas (Dwain) of Greenwood Springs and Mary Moreland (Don) of Amory; one son, Mike Cantrell (Lana) of Smithville; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Daniel, Jason, Misty, Melanie, Selena, W.C., Matt, Jason, and Marc; and 7 great grandchildren, Makala, Madison, Randall, Devin, Mia, Bailey, and Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Arthur Glen McFarling.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home and will continue until service time on Friday.
