Amory – Betty Collins Arinder, 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at NMMC Inpatient Hospice. Born on April 16, 1946, in Houston, MS, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Josephine Stewart Collins.
Betty graduated from high school in Calhoun City. She then attended both Itawamba Community College and Northwest Community College. During her career, she worked in child care for Wee Wisdom at First Baptist Church, Amory, from 1988 to 2008. She also worked for East Amory Preschool. Betty loved keeping children at Wee Wisdom and even kept children at her home during the summer. “Mrs. Betty” touched the lives of so many young kids.
Betty was a 50 year companion to her loving husband, Pat. She was a dedicated wife and loyal friend. She collected ceramic angels and loved to listen to modern gospel and modern country music. Betty impacted many lives during her time on this earth, and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Arinder, Amory; sons, Matthew Arinder (Misty), Memphis, and Jeffrey Arinder, Amory; sister, Jane Loveless, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Tyler and Abigail; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred S. Collins.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Dr. Allen Simpson and Rev. Don McCain officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Tyler Arinder; Ben and Jordan Collins; Jay Gore; Coley Wayne Hadaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Arinder; Jerry and Jimmy Cantrell; Jay Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.
