Smithville – Bettie Marie Stanford Wilson, 60, died on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Boulder, CO, Community Hospital. Born on November 2, 1950, in Marion County, AL, she was a daughter of the late Odis and Janara Younghance Stanford.
Bettie was a graduate of Sulligent High School. On June 26, 1980, she married Raymond Dale Wilson. Bettie was a homemaker and a faithful member of Smithville Church of Christ. A loving and devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 31 years, Dale Wilson, Smithville; daughter, Emily Marie (Brandon) Lackey, Amory; sister, Margaret Davis, Sulligent, AL; brothers, Johnny (Wanda) Stanford and Ricky Stanford, Detroit, AL; father-in-law, Cecil Wilson, Amory; brother-in-law, Bobby (Johnnie) Wilson, Smithville; sisters-in-law, Betty (Jerry) Nixon and family, Corinth and Brenda Wilson, Smithville; five nieces, Pebble (Greg) Pinkerton, Vernon, AL, Ginger (Tony) Tooke, Bristow, VA, Natasha (Tony) Saine, Detroit, AL, Joey (Michael) Hughey, Smithville and Janie Taylor, Smithville; great-nieces and nephews, Erika and Jordyn Pinkerton; Corey and Chelsie Tooke; Blayne Saine; Josh (Ashley) Bostick; Ashley Miller; and Jacob, Haley, and Addison Grace Hughey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death a brother-in-law, Jim Davis; mother-in-law, Nannie Fay Wilson; sister-in-law, Nola Gail Wilson; and a niece, Sherry Bostick.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 11 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Mr. Mickey Beam, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Pearce Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Pierce, Danny Stephenson, Bill Steverson, Sonny Riggan, Frank Gaddy and David Long.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
