Amory – Bessie Lou Gwin Radde, 96, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial RMC, Amory. Born on March 2, 1917, in Okolona, she was a daughter of the late Edward Tildon and Effie Grizzle Gwin.
After graduating from Okolona High School, Mrs. Radde moved to San Francisco. She married Ted Radde in 1938. Working for the US Government, she began working in the Denver Mint and transferred to Washington, DC, and later to Detroit, MI. She retired as Supervisor with the Cincinnati IRS office. Mrs. Radde was a member of North Boulevard Christian Church. An intellectual and independent lady who had a big heart, she enjoyed traveling abroad with friends; visiting family; reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events; and volunteering at Gilmore Memorial RMC for many years.
Survivors include her nephews, Jim Lancaster (Evelyn), Amory, Billy Gwin, AL, and Ned Gwin, SC; niece, Carol Gwin, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews, and great-great- nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Radde; sisters, Pauline Mixon and Helen Lancaster; and brothers, Leamon, Herbert, Jim, Bill, and Joe Gwin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, December 7 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Cory Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Historical Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Lancaster, Ty Nickels, Bill Jackson, Cole Jackson, Vernon Goode, and Peter Conwill.
