Barbara Silas Leech
Smithville - After a long and fulfilling life, Barbara Silas Leech passed away at the age of 91 at the Meadows in Fulton on the evening of December 20th. She was born the fourth child of H. C. Silas and Maude Elliott Silas on April 23, 1932, in Itawamba County.
She attended both Turon Elementary and Tremont High School. On July 23, 1948, she married the love of her life, Callie Doyle (Boosey) Leech. This union lasted for over seventy-two years until his death in 2021.
Barbara was a home maker and also worked many years in the garment industry at Monroe Trousers in Smithville. She was a lifelong member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Turon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother H.C. (Doot) Silas Jr. and sisters Bessie Fae Pierce, Ruby Mae Beach, and Bettie Jean Pierce.
She is survived by her two sons, Eddie (Gidget) of Fulton and Mike (Barbara) of Franklin, Tennessee; grandson, Jesse (Paige) of Oxford, Mississippi; many nieces and nephews; and Max, her loyal dog of Franklin, Tennessee.
A private service will be held at a later date.
