Quincy – Barbara Ann West Miller Knight, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Hospice Center of Atlanta, GA. Born on April 9, 1945, in the Bartahatchie Community, she was a daughter of the late Richard Junior West and Goldie Marie White West Vesterby.

Barbara attended Bartahatchie and Hamilton schools. A determined young woman, she entered the workforce at an early age. She was a seamstress for Amory Garment, Penthouse, Avon and Allen White. She was blessed by God with two children. An independent woman who never gave up, at age 62 she received her AS degree from Bevil State. Barbara had a strong faith, Barbara was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she had served as treasurer for several years.

One who never met a stranger, she had the best and biggest heart for her family, especially her children and grandson. Barbara was passionate about her love of God and family. Her hobbies were having fun on the computer and watching television. A fan of Country music, her favorite artists were Waylon, Willie, Conway and Loretta. Very generous, she would do anything for anyone. Barbara will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Michael Miller, Lithia Springs, GA; sisters, Sandra Dickinson (Jim) and Janet Dennison of Denver, CO; Glenda West, Amory; Tammy West, New Orleans, LA; brothers, Ricky West, Amory and Tony West, Tupelo; grandson, Cory Walls, Amory; many nieces and nephews; many special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Lynn Walls; first husband of 12 years, Robert Gordon Miller; second husband of 31 years, Roger Knight; sister, Donna Sue West; brothers, Don, Larry and Stevie West.

Her Graveside Service will be at 2 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2017, in Beeks Cemetery, Aberdeen, with Bro. Jackie McNeese officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Thursday.
