Arvie Lue Causey
Nettleton – Arvie Lue Causey, 68, became totally healed and reunited with many of her family members on January 12, 2023. She was born on February 27, 1954, in Amory, MS to the late Elmon Lee Gray and Lula Terry Gray.
Born in a huge family, being of 15 children, Arvie learned early the value of hard work and a loving family. She attended school in Bigbee yet left school at an early age to work in the cotton fields. Alongside the rest of her family, she worked to help support the family. After many years of working outside, she began a second career in the 80’s working at Lucky Star as a seamstress. Arvie worked over 10 years there until she was unable to work.
She was blessed by God with four children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she cherished. She was “Mama Lulu”, a cornerstone in her family. She was always there for everyone, caring, loving and giving to anyone in need. At times she could be a little fiesty yet that came with the wisdom she had gained through the years with such a large family. Arvie attended Church of God in Cason and she always walked out her faith by serving and loving others. She was a faithful giver to St Jude and children held a very special place in her heart.
One of her signature phrases she would say when she got close one her grandchildren was “give me that lip”, meaning she needed a kiss quickly. She was friendly to all people and touched so many lives through her various acts of kindness. A little wild at time, Arvie was the fun lady that took her car after a good snow to make donut tracks in the snow.
In her downtime, she solved many the problems while drinking coffee on her front porch and chatting with her buddy Janet Wright on the phone (even though Janet lived next door). Arvie loved to watch hummingbirds, butterflies, and birds in general. She spent much time in her gardens growing God’s beautiful creations such as Angel’s Trumpet plants and Elephant Ear plants. . Some of her favorite music was gospel, 50’s and 60’s music, as well as anything sung by Stevie Wonder. Arvie liked to go to yard sales and her yard always looked immaculate with her John Deere. In her younger days, she enjoyed seeing the countryside and traveling with Ardie Patrick.
In all her accomplishments in life, she was most proud of her children, grandkids, their graduations, and accomplishments they had achieved in life. Her family will miss her dearly and they will cherish the memories made with her forever.
