Becker— Arthur Joseph Smith, 77, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on June 28, 1940, in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of Paul and Dorothy Lenord Smith.
Arthur attended school in Pawtucket, RI. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marines and honorably served for 6 years. Arthur was a wonderful man who loved his wife, Carolyn, more than life itself. He and Carolyn met through the paper. They were married on July 10, 1982. Having a very generous heart, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Arthur adored his cats and was an avid reader, especially on the subject of history. He enjoyed watching the stock market with his wife, and in his free time, he loved to play golf. Along with playing golf, he also taught golf lessons and was a golf club maker. A truly selfless man, Arthur would do anything to help someone in need. He leaves a legacy of love for his family to remember in the years to come.
