Arliss Pearson

Las Cruces, New Mexico – Arliss Jouiner Pearson, 79, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. A native of Nettleton, he was the son of the late A. J. & Reber Hood Pearson.
Mr. Pearson had lived in Bigbee MS, Florida, Rome GA, and in New Mexico during his lifetime. Arliss married Betty Ruth Harris on August 16, 1969 in Memphis, who passed away in 1992. He was a Church of Christ. Mr. Pearson was a retired highway worker for the county. He volunteered at the local nursing home as a senior companion. He also enjoyed watching westerns.
He is survived by 2 sons, Arliss T. Pearson of Stafford VA, and Kevin G Pearson of Munford TN; daughter, Eva Kay Pearson of Las Cruces, NM; step-daughter, Wanda Smith of Addairsville, GA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Lee Pearson; step-daughter, Welena Ruth Jennings; grandmother, Betty Pearson.
A memorial service for Arliss J. Pearson will be held at 11 AM, Friday at the funeral home with Mr. Philip Hathcock officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
