Amory – Arch Justice, 90, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC. Born on January 14, 1924, in Hatley, he was the son of the late Arch C. & Lenora Weaver Justice.
Mr. Justice was a Hatley High School graduate, Class of 1943. He married Nel Phillips on July 3, 1943. Mr. Justice honorably served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was the long-time manager of Reece Dairy and worked briefly for M&W Butane before retiring. A member of Amory Church of Christ, Mr. Justice loved his church, was a song leader, taught Adult Sunday school class for 60 years, and was an Elder over 40 years. Always putting others first, he was the epitome of a devoted husband and never met a stranger. His life was guided by his love for God, family, all children, serving others and being a mentor to others. He enjoyed growing hybrid tea roses, funny practical jokes, yard work, and listening to Texas Swing, Church hymns, Bluegrass, Polka, and Ray Price.
Survivors include his son, Mike Justice (Melba), Westminster, MD; grandchildren, Rachel Fairchild (Ron), Hampstead, MD, and Christy Vadder (Joe), Manchester, MD; great-grandchildren, Adam & Matthew Fairchild and Henry & Michael Vadder; special friends, Glo & Will Buie, Kathy & David Brown, Allison & Greg Cooper, Virginia & Jackie Palmer, Darlene & Charles Fears, and Glen Bingham.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nel Phillips Justice, and daughter, Karen Justice.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, August 5 at Amory Church of Christ with Mr. Leslie Grant and Mr. Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dexter Butler, Tommy Justice, Michael Simpson, Jackie Palmer, Doug Hoots, Jerry Cooper and Phil Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be member of McDonald’s Coffee Club and Boyd Bryan.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday and 2:30 – 3:15 PM, Tuesday at Amory Church of Christ, Amory.
Memorials may be given to Amory Church of Christ.
