Smithville- Annie Holland Palmer, 83, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born November 24, 1929 in Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Lillie Bell Sanders Hester.
She grew up and attended school in Arkansas, later moving to Crowder, MS and living the last 46 years in Smithville. Annie retired from the Smithville Garment Company and was a member of Wildwood Chapel Baptist Church. A people person, she never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, often making things for friends and family, and keeping a diary.
She is survived by her daughter, Frankie Sloan (Terry), Amory; sisters, Lillie Mae Bullard (Jr.), Pope, MS, Frances McCain, Smithville; brothers, John Hester, Anderson, IN and Paul Hester (Wanda), Marks, MS; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Franklin Holland.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 9, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
