Smithville—Annie Mae Brown Maxey, 64, died on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born December 13, 1947 in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie Sue Anderson Brown.
She married Sidney Maxey in 1985. Before her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry and also was a baby sitter. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Bigbee Baptist Church and she enjoyed studying her Bible and listening to Christian music. Her hobbies include painting, sewing, working in the yard with her flowers, and going to yard sales. She especially loved her dog, Lacy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Sidney Maxey of Smithville; one daughter, Wanda Ann Little of Red Bay, Ala.; two sons, Randy Wayne Rogers (Donna) of Vina, Ala., and Scotty James Rogers of Golden; 4 sisters, Margie McAfee of Amory, Ruth Hallmark of Topeka, KS, Virginia Bowen of Amory, Jeanette Bowen of Amory, and Shelia Williams of Baldwyn; one brother, Jerry Brown of Baldwyn; and 4 grandchildren, Anthony James Little, Nathan Andrew Little, Kellie Sue Rogers, and Jonathon Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ricky Dean Rogers; and 3 brothers, Jody Brown, Gene Brown, and James Earl Brown.
