Smithville – Anna Louise Osborn Spann, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at her residence. Born on January 18, 1929, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late W.D. “Donnie” and Dellie Parham Osborn.

Anna married the love of her life, B. F. “Bennie” Spann, on November 24, 1945. She was a faithful member of the New Hope Church of Christ and she loved the Lord. With determination, she returned to school at an older age and graduated in 1958 from Smithville High School. She was a loving and supportive mother and a great “Mimzie” and Grandmother. For 22 years, she worked at Red Kap in Hatley as an Inspector. She was so full of life, had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and pick at the guitar. Some of her hobbies included writing poetry, collecting red bird figurines, crocheting, working in her flower gardens, and playing with her beloved dogs, Shasha and George. Anna also loved going out to eat, shopping, going places, and talking on the phone to some of her closest friends, Bessie Carter, Jane Burns, and Hildra Cooper. Her favorite music, which she loved to sing, was Gospel and Country Music.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Spann Thompson, Smithville, and Lana Spann Phelps (Michael), Okolona; sons, Larry Spann (Nina), Smithville, Leslie Spann (Cathey), Smithville, and Lloyd Spann (Pam), Amory; grandchildren, Lori Mills (Joey), Larry Spann II (Kerri), Brad Spann, Eric Spann (Nicole), Amy Murphy (Lee), Nathan Spann (Melissa), Erie Ben Spann (Ashley), Cristin Cooper (Chad) Brandon Spann (Megan), Jared Spann (Ashlye), Magan Spann, Leanna Sanders, Kayla Plunkett (Tony), Diandrea Thompson; great-grandchildren, Cora Spann; Colby & Chloe Mills; Austin & Allison Spann; Cory, Jake, and Taylor Murphy; Catherine Spann; Carson & Peyton Spann; Dylan & Koen Cooper; Kayden, Madison & Dalton Sanders; Tonya, Savannah, Connor & Hunter Plunkett; Angel & Zoey Greer.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Bennie, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, W.D. Osborn, Jr., and a great-granddaughter, Karley Jade Sanders.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Monday, April 27 at New Hope Church of Christ with Mr. David Highland and Mr. Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Spann, Nathan Spann, Ben Spann, Larry Spann, Brandon Spann, Brad Spann, and Jared Spann. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Sunday at EE Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Mrs. Spann will lie-in-state from 2:30 PM until the service hour at the church.
