Anna Puckett Solomon-Knight
Hattiesburg – Anna Puckett Solomon Knight passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Merit Health Wesley Memorial Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born on November 10, 1938 in Amory, MS to the late Erbie Lee Puckett and Frances York Puckett.
Anna grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Amory High School and attended Southern Methodist University. While in Amory she was a member of First United Methodist Church and later in life she became a member of Heritage Church in Hattiesburg, MS. Anna worked her career as an Office Manager/Secretary at the College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a one-of-kind woman, who was beautiful inside and out.
She was blessed during her lifetime with two loving husbands. She first married Donald Solomon, II with whom she had two sons and then she married Kelly Knight. Her main passion in her life was her faith in God and her family.
In her free time, in addition to spending time with kids and grandkids she liked to travel, take care of animals, scrap books memories and cheer on her favorite team, Alabama. Her favorite type of music was Broadway musicals, smooth jazz, new age and Celtic music.
Anna will be missed by her family and friends. The memories made through the years will be live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly D. Knight, Hattiesburg; son, Thomas Graham Solomon, Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Joseph Tanner Solomon, Evan Graham Solomon, and Rachel Madison Solomon; niece, Lara W. Brennan (Joe).
In addition to her first husband, Donald Solomon, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Gilbert Solomon III; sister, Elnor Puckett Williams; and nephew, David Lee Williams.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at Amory First Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Casteel officiating. Burial will follow in Amory Historical Society Cemetery, Amory, MS with pallbearers being Jack Carpenter, Daniel Grandfield, Kirk Patterson, Evan Solomon, Tanner Solomon, Ryan Walker, and Jere York.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, from 10:00 am until 10:40 am.
