Aberdeen –Ann Cantrell McCormick Morgan, 68, died on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at the Care Center of Aberdeen. Born on June 16, 1943, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Jewel and Myrtle Marie Stanford Cantrell.
Ann attended Amory High School. She married Sidney Morgan on February 3, 1980. Before becoming a homemaker, Ann worked in the shipping department in the local garment industry and had a babysitting business at home. She was a faithful member of Bigbee Baptist Church. Very pleasant and outgoing, Ann loved helping others and would often sit with the elderly. Having a big heart, she adored her family, children, and grandchildren. Ann enjoyed listening to Gospel music, working crossword puzzles, and doing find-a-word books.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Morgan, Aberdeen; son, Doug McCormick (Teresa), Amory; brother, Bobby Cantrell (Elaine), Hatley; grandchildren, Stacy Presley, Nettleton, D. J. McCormick, Amory, Taylor McCormick, Amory, and Christy Phillips, Amory; great-grandchildren, Drake Pridmore and Lynnleigh Presley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. “R. B.” McCormick; and a son, Barry McCormick.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, August 23 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Cantrell, Steve Cantrell, D. J. McCormick, Jimmy Brown, Dennis Pickle, and Mark Morgan.
Visitation will continue until the service hour on Tuesday.
