Amory- Ann Staub Halbert, 94, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Born July 21, 1919 in Reform, AL, she was a daughter of Augustus Joseph and Marie Taylor Staub.
Living most of her life in Amory, She was a graduate of Amory High School, attended MUW, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Very intelligent and loving her work, she worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for Amory Garment, Moores Meats, Glenn Manufacturing, City of Amory and was most pleased that she was working at Market Place for Insurance well after the age of 90. A very gracious lady, she enjoyed being with her family, cooking listening to Classical music, especially Mantovani’s Orchestra, sewing and reading, and always enjoyed to continue to learn about accounting.
She is survived her sons, Louis Staub Halbert (Carol), Amory and David Ellison Halbert (Judy), Houston, TX; sister, Marie Staub, Winterhaven, FL; grandchildren, Kelly Halbert Sharp (Scott), Sturgis, MS, James Chandler Halbert, Amory, Kyle Chad Halbert (Natalie), Bryan, TX, Amy Halbert Williams (Dan), Pinehurst, NC; great grandchildren, Kevin, Rachel, and John Ethan Sharp, all of Sturgis, MS, Sarah Halbert, Amory, Bailey, Summer, Zoe and Harper Halbert, all of Bryan,TX, Evan and Eli Williams of Pinehurst, NC; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers Joe and Harvey Staub.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30pm, November 24, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating. Burial will follow in Historical Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott, Kevin and John Ethan Sharp, Kyle Halbert, Pete Patterson, Dan Williams and Teddy Jones.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30-3:15pm.
