Born on October 11, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, Carroll Ann Irwin Glenn moved to Amory, Mississippi, following graduation from college. After an extended illness, surrounded by family, she passed away on September 1, 2023, in the North Mississippi Medical Center.
Ann was predeceased by her parents Joan and Claude Irwin of Memphis, Tennessee. She is survived by her sons Corey Glenn and his twin brother Todd Glenn (Hollie) and daughter Jimmy Ann Glenn Ray (Chad), all of whom reside in Amory. Along with her children, she leaves her sister Judy Kenley(Tommy) of Cordova, Tennessee; and her brother Don Irwin(Lynn) of Eads, Tennessee.
A devoted grandmother, she supported her grandchildren in all of their endeavors: Gregory Glenn, Bryce Glenn, Mason Glenn, Aubrey Glenn, Ryan Ray, and Riley Ray. In a final tribute to their grandmother, all of her grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.
A graduate of MSCW with a degree in physical education. Ann was a fun loving, thoughtful person who loved people. She particularly enjoyed going to Pickwick with her family and friends, where she showed off her prowess on the water. Her years in the workforce were also particularly happy ones for her as she established many lifelong friendships.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm, on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the E. E. Pickle Funeral Home chapel in Amory. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until 3:00 at the funeral home in Amory.
Honorary pall bearers are Bobby Harper, Jeff “Bodine” Stevenson, Russell Kenley, and Ronnie Herndon.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Create Foundation to help rebuild the Amory sports complexes that were destroyed by the devastating tornado.
