Anita Kirby Stacy
Amory- Anita Kirby Stacy, 69, died Saturday, August 24 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born April 17, 1944 in Memphis, she was a daughter of the late Helen Gordon. Anita married Larry R. Stacy April 28, 1978.
Anita grew up in and attended school in West Memphis Arkansas. She was of the non-denominational Christian and believed in speaking your mind. She and her husband were long haul truck drivers before retirement. She valued family and friends, honesty, respect, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, hunting, fishing, flower gardening, taking care of her animals and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Stacy, Amory; sons, Auda Wilson (Rhonda), Hatley, Andrew Wilson (Debbie), Amory, Mitchell Stacy (Elizabeth), Ash, NC, Terry Harold Stacy (Angie), Old Dock, NC; sisters, Lola Jean Steele, Smithville and Milla Gay Walker, Mt. Home, AR; brothers, Milton Morris, Tampa, FL and Elton Kirby, Mt. Home, AR; grandchildren, Emily Payne, Blake, Kelsey, and Collin Wilson, Amanda Braddock, Sarah Hatcher, T.C. Stacy, Michelle Shumway, Jennifer Sasser, and Jeffrey Stacy; 18 great grandchildren; special friends, Trudy “Maw Maw” Stacy, Linda and Brenda Steinke and family, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by a son, Tony Wilson, sister, Joyce Gordon, daughter in law, Pam Stacy, father in law, Randle Stacy, and a niece, Lisa Kirby.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Crook and Bro. Randy Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Coker, Chris Jones, Mark Osborne, Brian McCollum, Casey McCollum, Thomas Riley, Jason Stacy and A.J. Griffin. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
Donations may be given to the Amory Humane Society, 1317 Old Highway 6 Amory, MS 38821.
