Greenwood Springs – Angie H. Smith, 43, died on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on December 20, 1967, in Amory, she was a daughter of Clinton and Dorothy Millican Hathcock.
Angie was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1985. She married Lee Smith on June 27, 1992. For 15 years, Angie worked closely with Dr. Charles Sisson at P & S Clinic. She briefly worked for Renasant Bank at their branch in Amory before going to work at the Cancer Center in Tupelo. Angie was an active member of Smithville Baptist Church where she was a Youth Group leader. She enjoyed riding four-wheelers, listening to Gospel music, shopping and just getting out going places. A very giving and caring person with an infectious smile, Angie never met a stranger as she could talk to anyone. Living life to the fullest and one who would help anybody, she was passionate about Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Angie’s faith and her family were of most importance to her.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Lee Smith and daughters, Taylor and Anna Katherine Smith, all of Smithville; her parents, Clinton & Dorothy Hathcock, Smithville; sisters, Cathy “Cat” (Terry) Dill and Cindy (Chris) Cowley, Smithville; brothers, Mike (Tracey) Hathcock and Darwin (Tammi) Hathcock, Smithville; nieces and nephews, Dustin and Derrick Hathcock, Josh and Hannah Hathcock, Brittany Franks, and Todd and Lori Beth Cowley; and special friends, Dr. & Mrs. Charles Sisson, Mae Moore, Courtney Vaughan, Kathy Collins and Grace Scott. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Braxton and Mattie Hathcock and Orbie and Lesker Millican.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in Smithville Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Tucker and Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin, Derrick, and Josh Hathcock, Jimmy Douglas Cowley, Rand Hood, Jay Vann and Mark Cowley.
Memorials may be given to Le Bonheur Foundation, P. O. Box 41817, Memphis, TN 38174-1817.
