Andrew “Porkchop” Terry
Amory - Andrew Patrick Terry, A.K.A. “Porkchop”, 42, of Amory, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at Baptist Memorial-Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. He was born on July 6, 1980, in Amory, to the late Thomas and Lyn Hissong Terry. Andy was the baby of 6 children with his siblings being George Hissong, Tracy Hissong, the late Bonnie Terry, Julie Long, and Jennie Terry of Aberdeen, Mississippi.
“Andy” as he was affectionately known, lived in Aberdeen, Mississippi most of his life. He was well known for slinging tires at Amory Tire and Rubber most of his adult years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hanging out with friends and family. He loved to color with his nieces and nephews. Most Friday nights he enjoyed winding down with Melinda Perrigin at the Broken Spoke. Andy loved to dance and sing Karoke. He was a great person with a big heart and loved everyone. He was for sure a mama’s boy.
He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Andy is survived by his brother, George Hissong (Darlene), Aberdeen; sisters, Tracy Hissong (Aurdey), Aberdeen, Julie Long (Ivan), Aberdeen, Jennie Terry, Aberdeen; nieces and nephews, Anthony Reese (Megan) , Cutor Hissong, Rachel Hissong, Harley Hissong, Dustin Long (Breanna), Dana Edwards (Chris), Diana Long (Jon), Austin Belue, Katelyn Easter (Burt), Chesney Welch, Devan Melcher, and Jesse Melcher (Mallory); and great-nieces and nephews, Jamie Rae Burt, Ashton, Olivia, Payton, Carson, Rylie, Alli, Jaxon and Madilynn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Terry.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10 , 2023, at 11 a.m. at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home at the Amory Chapel with Bro. Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Howell Cemetery in Athens, Mississippi with pallbearers being Chesney Welch, Anthony Reese, Dustin Long, Jon Willis, Brandon Brown, Austin Belue, and the honorary pallbearer will be Michael Cox.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 am until the service hour.
