Amory – Albert Hilliard, 86, died on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Oak Tree Plantation. Born on January 14, 1926, in Aberdeen, he was a son of the late William Clifton and Annie Earl Wilson Hilliard.
Mr. Hilliard was a graduate of Becker High School, Class of 1944. He honorably served in the US Navy. On May 18, 1948, he married Juanita McNeil Hilliard. Working as the manager at Bryan-Rogers Automotive, Mr. Hilliard retired after 45 years of service. A devoted man of faith, he was a member of First Baptist Church. Living life to the fullest, Mr. Hilliard loved his wife of 60 years, his son, and his special granddaughter. He enjoyed church hymns and doing yard work.
He is survived by his son, Neil Hilliard (Mary), Amory; granddaughter, Hannah Hilliard Adair (Clint), Bartlett, TN; and a niece and nephew, Nancy Cook and Joe Hilliard.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hilliard.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 17 at Masonic Cemetery with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Aldridge, Larry Flippo, Clint Adair and Phil Adair.
Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, PO Box 540, Amory, MS 38821 or to a charity of choice.
