Amory – Robert Lee Lindley, 74, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Diversicare Healthcare, Amory. Born on November 19, 1942, in Red Bay, AL, he was a son of the late Mansel Pendall and Mary Emaline Spencer Lindley.
Robert attended schools in Red Bay and Steele, MO. While living in Illinois, he worked for Thrall Car in Chicago Heights, IL. After moving to Amory, Robert worked as a frame builder with Amwood Furniture. With his life guided by The Good Lord, he was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Amory. A loving and caring brother, Robert’s life centered around his family. He always cherished family visits. He loved listening to Gospel music. His hobbies were fishing and camping. Tender-hearted and very giving, Robert was a great brother and Uncle to his loved ones. Robert will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Johns (Homer), Blytheville, AR; Barbara Dykes, Amory; Linda Eaton(Billy) and Carolyn Johnson (Jerry) of Crete, IL; Anita McCool, Greenwood Springs; brother, Freddie Joe Lindley (Edna), Smithville; and 21 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Mann and Martha Eaton; and brothers, Charles and Don Lindley.
His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM, Friday, January 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. James Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Lindley, Michael McCool, Tammy Lindley Elermann, Tim Lindley, Carl Lindley, Robert Hacker and Thomas Stacy.
Visitation will be from 11 AM – 12:45 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
