Phillip Edward Tucker

Amory – Phillip Edward Tucker, 62, passed away on September 9, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born on May 11, 1960, in Zion, Illinois, to Bernice Swindle Tucker and the late Louis Tucker.

Phillip grew up in both Illinois and Mississippi. He graduated from Amory High School with the Class of 1978. A skilled mechanic, he worked his whole life building engines. Phillip was employed primarily by Jay Dickens racing company and he really enjoyed working on cars. He was good provider for his family.

Kindhearted, Phillip would do anything for anybody who asked for help. He believed in God and he was most proud of raising his son. In his free time, he liked to tinker on things, listen to country and southern rock. Phillip loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, taxidermy and working in his yard.

His closest friend was Tanya Welch, with whom he shared many wonderful memories through the years. Some of his close friends were Terry Cagle, Thomas Southard, Bill Loveday, and Jay Dickens. Phillip was a funny guy with a dry brash sense of humor and he enjoyed the good company.

Of all his accomplishments in life, raising his son would have been his number one achievement. Phillip will be missed by so many and the ones left behind to cherish his memory will hold on to them forever.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Tucker (Adrienne), Hendersonville, TN; mother, Bernice Swindle Tucker, Amory; sister, Terri Westmoreland, Amory; grandchildren, Grayson and Henley Kate Tucker; special friend, Tanya Welch, Amory; nephews, Ben Hanson and Ricky Moreland.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Tucker.

At this time there are no services planned. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.
