Dennis C. Lewis

Aberdeen – Dennis Carl Lewis, 66, passed away at his residence in Aberdeen, Mississippi on Saturday evening, November 11, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1957, in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Roy Lee Lewis and Angie Lou Smith Lewis.

Dennis grew up in Louisiana and graduate from Holly Ridge Schools, in Rayville, Louisiana. He was a hard worker who was very talented with his hands. He was a mechanic, truck driver and worked in the Chemical Waste Management industry. He was blessed by God with a loving wife, Amanda June Lewis, whom he married on December 16, 1988. They were blessed with a large family, including fifteen grandkids and eleven great-grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Family said to know him was to love him yet you needed to pay attention to what he said cause he would often ask “What did I say?”.

In his down time, he loved to study the word of God. Besides his faith in God, his family meant the world to him. In his downtime, he liked to be outdoors, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Often times, he would stay abreast of current affairs, often concerned with what was occurring in our world. While giving his advice, he would often say “In nice words” before stating facts and he would also say “I don’t care what anyone thinks”. One of his close friends was Jimmy Gibson, they liked to drink coffee, talk and go to Pow Wows. Dennis liked to listened to Country music, The Oldies, and Bluegrass music. He also liked to work the land, farm, and run his tractor. He also gardened and was very talented at making wine.

Dennis was a great man, whose priorities were God’s word and his family. He will be missed dearly and the memories made will last forever.

Left behind to treasure the memories of him are his wife, Amanda June Lewis, Aberdeen; daughters, Cynthia Crabn, New Albany, MS and Stephanie Wilkinson, Blue Springs; sons, Paul Lewis, New Albany, and Marcus Lewis, Aberdeen, MS; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Claire Lewis Bartient (Billy); brother, Artis Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
