Cason Community – Jackie Darrin Brown, 57, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, as a result of a car accident in West Point, MS. He was born on June 8, 1965, in Amory, MS, to Glenda Hester Brown and the late Jack Brown and he was one of three sons in his family.
Darrin grew up in the Cason Community and graduated from Nettleton High School. He was Patriot and loved America, serving in the MS Army National Guard. Darrin was a Tank Mechanic and was put into Active Duty Status during Desert Storm. In addition to serving the country, he also worked hard for his family, providing a good life. He was a jack of all trades, very talented with his hands, and was an amazing mechanic. Darrin worked many places during his life, including Norbord, Lucky Star Industries, and Mike Harris Millwright Company. His last career was as a Maintenance Reliability Technician for Yokohama Manufacturing in West Point. He made some of his closest friends while at work and with Mike Harris and his brothers being his best friends.
A man with a heart of Gold, he was a member of Cason Baptist Church. Darrin loved the Lord and knew that in hard times, God will carry you through anything. He married his soul mate, Gayle on March 13, 1987 and they had a special relationship where they had shared many wonderful and tough times in life. Through and through they were there for each other and were blessed by God with three children. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandkids, and would do anything for them.
You always knew where Darrin stood. He was straight forward, hardworking, and would tell you how he felt without sugar coating anything. In his free time he liked to listen to classic rock and old country. Darrin was steady with his hands and played golf when time permitted. He also tinkered with just about any sort of project, always successfully completing it.
Although this goodbye for now seems too early, his family knows that Darrin is with Jesus and his son Nick. Darrin’s family will miss him forever and they look forward to the day they are reunited. Until then, they will cling tight to precious memories and continue his legacy of loving others.
He is survived by his very best friend, his wife, Gayle Hitt Brown, Cason Community; his mother, Glenda Hester Brown, Cason Community; daughter, Brittany Logan (Nathan), Hamilton; son, Eric Sanders (Karyn), Amory; grandchildren, Kinley-Brooke Sanders, Wesley Logan and Maddy Logan; brothers, Mark Brown (Judy), Nettleton, Bart Brown (Kristy), Amory; a host of nieces and nephews and many close friends.
